New logo designed by 91Ï㽶ÊÓƵ student for Torfaen Voluntary Alliance

Congratulations to foundation degree graphic communication student Lee Brakspears for designing a great new logo for the Torfaen Voluntary Alliance. The bright new rainbow-coloured logo was created by Lee after TVA – the County Voluntary Council that supports the third sector, organisations and partners throughout Torfaen – asked us for help with their rebrand.

Lecturer Chris Ryan explained, “Their existing brand had been in place for a number of years and was in need of a refresh. So myself and a group of first year students visited the TVA offices and met with staff who asked the students to create a concept for a logo. “The students worked solidly on this project for six weeks, with regular communication with TVA throughout, before pitching their final designs to them with Lee’s logo was selected as the winning design. “Overall it was a fantastic experience for all the students. To have the opportunity this early in the course to work directly with a live client, attend meetings, pitch ideas and develop their work with honest feedback and see their work being used in a real world scenario will really help them develop as designers and give them all huge confidence going into their second year,” he added. Aimi Morris, operational executive officer at TVA said, “We were overwhelmed by the enthusiasm and commitment of the students that came forward with proposals. All proposals were to a high standard, and choosing wasn’t an easy task. This was a great opportunity not only for the students but for TVA as an organisation, as working with partner organisations and providing opportunities to young people is core to our values.”
