Are you ex-armed forces?

So much knowledge and experience… are you ex-armed forces and wondering what the skills and knowledge you’ve acquired during your service are worth back in the civilian world?

Under the , the ELCAS scheme is designed to assist MOD Service personnel with training that will enhance their current or future career.

This assistance is in the form of an annual payment for up to three years.

Personnel that have left the armed forced can earn up to two thirds of an undergraduate degree and up to two thirds of a masters degree, based on the training and knowledge they acquired while serving.  The scheme assesses your skills and experience, and even includes those acquired without formal training. You don’t necessarily need to have any formal qualifications such as GCSEs or A levels to start a course.

ELCAS Scheme

The MOD’s Enhanced Learning Credits Scheme (ELC) promotes lifelong learning amongst members of the Armed Forces. The scheme provides financial support in the form of a single up-front payment in each of a maximum of three separate financial years. You are reminded that ELC funding is only available for pursuit of higher level learning i.e. for courses that result in a nationally recognised qualification at Level three or above on the National Qualifications Framework (NQF) (England, Northern Ireland and Wales), a Level six or above on the Scottish Credit and Qualifications Framework (SCQF) or, if pursued overseas, an approved international equivalent qualification with an approved learning provider.
